Parody Pictures is an ancient organization, founded in the beginning of the democratic revolution in Bulgaria – an ancient country in the centre of the Balkan Peninsula. To be precise it was founded in August, 1993 in the seaboard city of Varna by a group of young and totally mentally undeveloped people. The main idea and purpose of the group was the production of amateurish video films. Actually the screenplay of the first movie was ready at that time and it was filmed only a month after the decision was made. The main persons in charge of the crazy idea, still wanted by the local police in order to be hospitalized, are: Dean Kateliev, Mihail Nenov and Radoslav Mihaylov.
These tree mentally disordered guys were the script-writers and performers of the main characters in the same time, as normally it was hard to find any volunteers at that time. Although you may not understanding the idea behind the whole big mess, if you see the film you will, at least, find out the names of the other performers.
After this first try there were some other films and stuff created by the group, which presentation is one of the purposes of this site. It includes short video discussions, other performances, interviews and clip shots of other mentally disordered people. The group has evolved step by step and started to work on other artistic projects, where finding volunteers was not an obstacle for their impatient artistic genius any more, such as music, poetry and prose projects which will be presented here as well.
Evolution processes continued their unmerciful march. The group now secretly hopes that this site will become a portal that bridges over artistic geniuses from different parts of the country.
